About this project

ShareX Beginner's Guide is a user guide for new users of ShareX, a screen capture, and productivity tool software.

Process

Audience Analysis: Identified a focus and audience for the user guide (new users) and created user personas
Product Research: Explored the software and studied available resources (YouTube and Discord)
User Research: Conducted a card sorting activity with a few friends to get some different perspectives
Draft: Drafted the user guide in chunks
Peer Review: Edit, edit, edit!
Finalize: Added finishing touches (feedback from peers, index, and glossary)

It was challenging to document software without collaborating with SME's—I turned to ShareX's Discord server and user-created videos in place of talking to SME's
My workflow could have been more efficient. After spending time on FrameMaker working on this deliverable, I feel much more confident in using the tool
